Matadors Leadership Institute

Being a part of matadors leadership institute has been a life-changing journey that has had a profound influence on my personal and professional development. I took an internship program at matadors that has afforded me priceless knowledge and understanding of effective leadership, strategic planning, and effective communication. The program's workshops, and mentorship opportunities have enabled me to cultivate a deeper understanding of myself and boosted my confidence.

Matadors Leadership Institute is not just an organisation, it is a training ground to groom youth across the globe to position them for impact. I was privileged to be posted to Matadors for my one-year mandatory service and in the course of my stay at the organisation I was opened to learning, unlearning and relearning, working with the teenagers on Saturday and being involved in the ever first tech event in Osun state, where I got to build meaningful connections and contribution, it was indeed a great delight. I understood the importance of teamwork and collaboration thanks to Dayo Nigeria and of course Precious. I wasn't just in an institute, I found myself in a family. Thank you Matadors Leadership Institute.

My experience working and volunteering at Matadors Leadership Institute led to clarity and self discovery. I was able to discover what I was passionate about and this drives what I currently do at Edu4Impact, an ngo I cofounded with my friends last year. I would say Matadors Leadership Institute laid a foundation to my project management journey, honed my people management and critical thinking skills as a development practitioner with keen eyes for details. I enjoyed the time spent with the team I worked with during my time at Matadors including the trainings, fun and feedback sessions. The europhia of learning something new each time and listening to the wealth of knowledge of others Truly Matadors is a learning ground and a home at. Matadors teaches you resilience.

The Matadors Leadership Institute has been instrumental in shaping my perspective on service-oriented leadership excellence in project/program management among other things. Through their Leadership Communication Certification Programme which I attended in 2019, I gained insights into the importance of making a positive impact in my community and using storytelling as a tool to raise awareness about its challenges and garner support for solutions. Having had the privilege to attend this training in 2019, I was inspired to become an active contributor to the growth of my community by leveraging collaboration and effective communication. Subsequently, working with Matadors proved to be a transformative experience for my personal and professional growth. Matadors Leadership Institute stands as a beacon for nurturing emerging leaders, and I am grateful to have been a part of this transformative journey. It has truly been a game-changer in my life and career, and I am proud to serve as a testament to the institute's commitment to cultivating impactful leaders. Working with Dayo Nigeria, the founder of MLI taught me the art of service and commitment to young people in an unusual way. DN's passion for young people is highly contagious.

My time at Matadors Institute has been nothing short of transformative because I served at Matadors Institute doing the Youth Service Program and it opened doors to invaluable experiences that have shaped my personal and professional journey. I Was able to be part of the volunteer for The Osun Girls Can Code program was a highlight, offering not just technical skills but also leadership training and event planning expertise. It was through this initiative that I learned the importance of proper planning and effective communication in achieving success. More than just a learning experience, my time at Matadors Institute provided me with opportunities to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, fostering meaningful relationships and mentorships. Thanks to the guidance and support of the institute, I feel well-prepared to tackle the challenges of the real world. It has instilled in me a sense of resilience and determination that I carry with me in all aspects of life. I am immensely grateful for the impact Matadors Institute has had on my personal and professional growth. It has truly been a privilege to be part of such a supportive and nurturing community. I call them families now.

I joined Matadors in 2021 and learnt a lot. It was an eye-opening platform for me. I was able to learn skills such as teamwork, multitasking, and how to prioritize responsibilities through their programs such as Osun Girls Can Code. It has been an amazing journey meeting people and I was able to see learning as a continuous thing as it taught me to learn from anyone whether young or old.
